Ear Force X4 - Compatible with PS3? - Blu-ray Forum

My room is unfortunately way too small to fit a surround sound system in and therefore I've been trying to come up with some alternatives seeing audio is half the Blu-ray experience...

These headphones say they're compatible with the Xbox 360 for gaming, so I'm wondering whether I can use these with my PS3 so I can watch my Blu-rays with surround sound?

I have the X4s and they are awesome. Supremely comfortable for gaming and movies. Unfortunately, I do not think they cooperate with the PS3. You might be better off trying these (assuming you have the connectivity with your TV and/or receiver)...

looking at the specs, and only assuming...

but couldn't you connect an Optical cable from the PS3 to this thing? or even from a Tv's optical output?

If you use optical, won't you only get stereo sound?

You can get sound from your PS3 from the X4's. It will be DD, but it's not recommended for PS3 use because the voice/mic function doesn't work since there's no Bluetooth. If you just want to play a game or watch a movie in DD (only) it should work. You would have to set your output to optical FYI.

Thanks for all the replies. My friend infact bought these the other day and they do work with the PS3

They sound incredible! I never thought you'd actually feel like you were sitting in a surround sound system with these on
