Default Blu-ray.com Walker Group

Folks,

I've set up a group for Blu-ray.com members over at walkertracker.com

Last summer, after years of neglecting myself for numerous reasons, I ended up at the doctors to look into medical weight loss. Discovering that I had fooled myself into what I thought I weighed, it turned out I was actually at 434lbs. Having had sedentary jobs for the last eight years and being overweight beforehand, it scared the bejeezus out of me. So in October of last year I started on their medical weight loss program. It's just healthy living, a lifestyle change, not a diet.

But I'm not here to promote the program or anything but rather one of the things that got me better. Since starting in October, I've lost 97lbs in the last nine months. While 337 is certainly not slim and svelte, it's a world of change for me. When I started, I could barely walk 3000 steps a day when I got my pedometer on. 3000 is considered sedentary and it's what most people do. Since then, my steps have continually gone up and I now have a 10000 step a day average/goal. Yesterday, the first full real day of warmth here in New England, I ended up with over 20,000 steps.

Being that we're all movie fans and internet folks, I'm sure there are a few others in my boat. But even if you're not, 10000 steps a day is what's considered a healthy active lifestyle. And nothing gets people going like others outperforming them. Since May 1st, I've walked 218 miles. I need more incentive though to keep going and it's something that I can share with friends anywhere in the world.

If you're game, click on the group link in the first paragraph after getting a pedometer yourself. See if you're really living healthy in terms of walking in a day. I've still got a 130lbs to go to get to where I need to be but I'm almost halfway to my goal in nine months while still having foods that I love and enjoy.

You go Chris! One way to speed up your weight loss without walking all the way to Mexico is to wear weights or hold 'em. I should do the same and start walking some more.

I get stepped on a lot by my co-workers at the office. Does that count?
