Default My dog

i know this has almost absolutely no BR relevance but here we go....

anyway, was watching 8 below last night and my siberian was going absolutely nuts. they were making a lot of the same noises that she does and was just going nuts at whatever speaker was making a dog noise. then, this morning, i was running a speaker test (each speaker individually making a noise). she was running around the living room chasing the noise. absolutely hilarious in my opinion. just thought i'd share...

Eight Below has LPCM audio, yes? That's probably it. Imagine what the dog may think if you were playing the lossy tracks: "He sounds familiar but with lots of holes in his voice."

So true.

I've seen my dog react and even bark when I've watched movies and this is before anything high def.

Real high or real low frequencies...these animals just have uber hearing.

If I get a newer receiver in here and I start cranking LPCM and things of that nature...this could become madness around here!

luckily, she was raised a bit with surround sound. so, it really hasn't been an issue since she's used to lots of extra noises. it wasn't until this that she started going ballistic

i wonder what she'll think when i move to a house and am able to really crank the volume!

I got a new reciever in this week, and I tried this with my dog today. But she didn't seem to notice or care.

Of course, the best part of the day was turning on Transformers after I got my bass shakers installed on the couch. I waited until my dog was nice and snug on the couch and half way asleep and then turned on the shakers. I swear the next explosion, and she jumped off that couch so fast...I was in tears.

My dogs reacted the best to Marley & Me so far. I haven't watched 8 below on bluray yet.

Holy necrothread Batman!

J/K My dog leaves the room whenever I turn the receiver/TV on. He's been surprised too many times.

We've got a decent amount of Husky owners on here lol. We totally need a Husky tread lol. Mine, I got as a pup. She's full of energy and loves rides, the snow(of course), walks and ice cream. She's spoiled but what can you do?

I haven't picked up Eight Below yet but I'm sure she'd love it.

I've always wanted one. How are Huskies with arrogant little lapdogs? I have a Pekingese that is under the impression he's a German Shepard.

My experience is that Huskies don't like small dogs at all... mine goes after them like they were rabbits or squirrels...also they don't like cats usually but mine does. He was raised with them. He's ok with big dogs

Huskies are cool but they can be alot of work.

Great looking dog Bandit! Yes, they are a lot of work. Mine is a furball. She gets along with most dogs. She does chase bears, deer, coyotes, etc. She usually brings back a lot of deer bones etc. during hunting season. I can't tell you how long I had a deer skull in my yard but she loved the thing! lol

I hate dogs because when you talk to them they never answer which is very rude of them.
