Default Blu-rays Digital Copies!

I am just curious if any of you guys use your digital copies that come along with your Blu-ray movies. I havent used any of the ones that I have been getting with my movies. Just curious on what I could do with them??? It just seems like a waste to have them all sit on the shelves.

Yes, I use them because I plan to add an Apple TV in my bedroom. I can watch digital copies on my 19" LCD panel plus the free TV shows Apple offered PLUS my music and photos.

That along with my iPod Touch means my entertainment is portable.

i've never used any of mine either. Once you get them into iTunes, do they have an expiry or anything like that?

So is it a 1-computer type thing? i.e. If I put them on my macbook would I only be able to watch them there? Or could I log in to my itunes elsewhere and watch it?

Sorry for all the Q's, just curious....

Where you put is only where can watch, can't be copied and put to other place.

Actually, iTunes digital copies can be viewed on the following:

>Up to 5 computers authorized to access your account.
>iPod with Video or iPod Nano with Video
>iPhone or iPod Touch
>Apple TV

Windows Media copies work differently:

>Will work on 1 PC of your choice.
>Windows Media capable portable devices.

Sony also has propriety digital copies which work on the PS3, PSP, or PSP Go.

Apple gives you more freedom with the digital copies than Windows Media. However, some people just don't want to have Apple iDevices. You can easily move your iTunes library of music, videos, and applications to another storage drive.

Windows Media DRM works differently, depending on the source the DRM can either be tied to the computer name or store account. For example, if you use Rhapsody or CinemaNow to buy/rent your music/video then you just have to log in and you can enjoy your purchase/rental on any PC. However, for most digital copies provided by the studios, the DRM is tied to the computer name so unless the computer name matches the rights management key you won't be able to watch it.

Heck yeah I use 'em! I've got around 40GB of movies on my iTunes that are completely legit (not pirated). Many are digital copies that come with my BD movies. I am always inclined to purchase a BD with an included digital copy, mainly because I don't have a BD drive to backup my movies with.

I can't wait for a 32GB iPhone to pop a bunch of my flicks on!

So, how exactly does that work then with iTunes? i.e. On my MacBook I inserted the disc, entered the code and it's all good. But when I log in to iTunes on another computer I don't see anything listed under Videos.

Do I need to use the disc again on the other computer as well?

Thanks

The digital copy file is stored locally on your hard drive, so you won't be able to just open iTunes on any computer and access it.

May be worthwhile to mention you can run itunes on PC's as well.

(In case anyone didn't know that.)

Control-click/Right-click on the name of the movie in the iTunes Movie pane the click on Reveal in Finder. Move the file to a flash drive or create a Burn Window and burn to DVD disc.

Better yet, use an external drive if you have more than one computer (I said computer since that can mean MAC or PC). Then move your iTunes music folder, your movies/podcasts/TV shows/music videos will be in here too, to the external drive. Then goto iTunes > Preferences > Adavanced and change the Music folder location to the external drive. Do this with all the computers that are linked to your iTunes account and you are set.
