Fox giveth and it taketh away. In the wake of picking up several new series to order, the network has axed five shows — the action-packed Human Target, crime dramas Lie to Me and The Chicago Code , and freshman comedies Breaking In and Traffic Light, Deadline reports.

Not really unexpected, except maybe Chicago Code. I thought they might give that one more of a chance.

I can see with Breaking In although it was a guilty pleasure of mine. Lie To Me though, that was one of their staples.

Well, if that's the case then they can cancel "Glee". Leave "Human Target" alone. Now that Simon Cowell is gone cancel that crap "American Idol" as well. He was the only reason to watch that show anyway.

Can't speak to the other shows... I liked Human Target, though, but I understand why they let it go... It was retooled so season 2 was different than season 1 and it was moved around in the schedule so it never had a home... and it really never clicked with the larger fanbase anyway, so was unlikely to be a long series even if everything lined up perfectly.

Damn. Disappointing news. Was hoping Human Target would get renewed. I watched the first few Chicago Code episodes and had the rest on my DVR. May as well delete those now. May just tune in for the finale.
