Last fall Sony removed Mortal Kombat II from the PSN Store due to what they called a "firmware incompatibility."
It also mysteriously disappeared from the download lists of anyone who had previously purchased the game. Last night I noticed it's back on the PSN Store, but it's not on my download list. I have the game on our living room PS3, and would like to download it to our bedroom PS3, but I don't really feel like paying for this game twice. Called Sony support, who told me they needed to escalate my ticket and would call me back in 1-2 days. Any else run into this issue? Also, I could have SWORN that when it was first available, MK2 was a PS3/PsOne game that could also be played on the PSP. Now it just shows up as a PS3 game with no mention of PSP. Am I recalling this correctly? Does anyone have this game on their PSP from its original release? Thanks. |

well, i downloaded it the first month it was released, it was a PS3 game, not a PSONE classic section game, just one of the throwback games, i believe it never left my list in the store but then again its hard to sift through 300 items.. its always been on my console never left, and ive never had to re-download it.. thats about all i can tell u.

Huh, I don't recall MKII being removed off of the PSN at any time. And its not a PS1 classic, its just a port of the arcade version with online multiplayer. Whats amazing still, is that its still on the top 10 selling games on the PSN. It was at no. 2 the last time I checked.

I had to go check after reading about this. It still shows up on my download list. Strange that yours is missing. Hopefully they will get it straight for you.

Sony just called me back (God, I love their customer service--A+ for promptness!). They couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me why MKII no longer showed up on my download list. So, they gave me an MKII voucher code.
![]() Still... very mysterious. I thought things stayed on my download list forever. Probably a good idea to keep any and all "Purchase Confirmation" emails you get from the PSN Store. |
