Default Neil Young Archives Delayed?

I could have swore there was a release date for Feb. And Amazon has it up for pre-order (only $10 more than the standard DVD too! the people are posting "Reviews" if I can use that term.... stating how pissed about the price they are )

Anyways.... I've searched the news bits etc.... and now I can't find even a "rumored" release date..... anyone hear anything?

Honestly there is no release date as of yet. We can best guess it will be sometime after his new album... (can't remember release date) He needs to hurry up though. I have been waiting for the archives tooooo long and i want to see what the future of blu ray holds for future archives releases

I've been waiting for this also. It was supposed to be Feb. 24. It is going to be great whenever it gets here.

It has been delayed of course. At this point it is going to be released on cd/dvd/BD at some undetermined time. I have heard June as a possible time.

Yeah, my understanding is that the new "environmentalist" album is getting top billing and pushing the archives back. Why am I not surprised. Neil/Warner will have a reason to delay this perpetually.

Par for the course with Neil

I truly think this set is going to pave the way for many other artist to follow suit w/ this format. The price is going to turn some ppl off...but anyways..

lol...not to be an ass, but, wouldn't you think they would push the "Archives" and save the "environmental" album til it gets warmer?

Just so no one gets the wrong idea, this has been definitively dated and will be released on June 2, 2009. It will be called the Neil Young Archives, Vol. 1: 1963-1972 and will come on 10 discs.

... and will cost a small fortune. Total Blu-ray copies sold will likely be countable with 3 digits.

It's been delayed and rescheduled so many times in the past 10 years I lost count. At this point I'll believe it when it's spinning in my disc player.

Why is this one so many discs?! It makes sense if each disc is a re-release of an original l.p. but if that is not the case then what's up? And where IS the 5.1?

He's pretty much releasing everything that he's ever recorded.

I think that part will have to stay open for debate.

LOL...Perhaps, but in terms of the material that is provided (and to come), I think I'll definately spring for this .

Have you found it listed for a reasonable price in Canada though?

CDN$ 315.95 at amazon.ca seems a bit obscene. I might buy it for $200 but that's about the limit.

Not yet, but I'm a pretty savvy shopper, I'll get a good price somewhere.
