Default Die Hard Collection double dip

I know that DVD vs. Blu-Ray is a ridiculous comparison, however I own the THX box set of Die Hard 1-3, is it worth the purchase of the blu box set...the review for PQ/AQ is not compelling.

If anyone that owns this has feedback, its greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

i was able to snag the Ultimate Edition for 12.99 ... it was a glitch in the best buy system that had the skew number the same as the target THX.

that week target had it on sale for 12.99 and i priced matched it a BAM .. 27.99 dropped down to 12.99 ... DVD versions ...

uhhhh, as blu rays themselves they don't look like Cars or A bugs life, but compared to the DVD's... They thrash them six ways from Sunday. They are all VERY hefty upgrades especially Die hard with a Vengeance. That one is literally night and day. Don't even hesitate to upgrade those discs

blu ray>dvd

crappy transfer blu> dvd

Blu will always be better then dvd. Blu-ray movies are not created equal. Some are indeed better looking then others. If you really like a movie, upgrade!

Die Hard is going to be a gold box lightning deal at 2 pacific time. Don't know for sure if it will be the collection but that'd be my guess.

I own it,and I say YES! I had Live Free Or Die Hard already as a freebie Blu that I got when I bought my first player, then Amazon had a Deal Of The Day some months back for $46.95,I bought it and loved it,I was able to sell my copy of LFODH on ebay and get some of the money that I invested on the Blu Die Hard box set! THE DIE HARD BLU RAY COLLECTION IS WORTH BUYING! By the way, cool avatar

I bought DH2 a few months ago. I got around to watching last night and there is an issue with DTS-MA. There is no sound coming out of my receiver. You have to call Fox and get them to send you a replacement.

Yes, it's worth the double dip. The upgrade in picture and sound quality is worth it.

My opinion is more mixed--

DIE HARD 3 is a huge upgrade-- has the "pop" that you want to see on
blu-ray

DIE HARD 1 and 2 are good but not great. I can't think of any scenes
where I said "wow" at the picture. I don't regret buying them because
with very rare exception-- the hi def picture is always better than the
dvd version but these are not show off blu-rays...

The sound upgrade is worth noting too, especially with this genre.

The current Die Hard Blu-rays look infinitely better and sound better than the THX dvds. These movies will never look great except for the last one, which does look awesome, because of how they shot them. I would recommend picking up the set if the price is affordable.

Worth buying alone for the pic quality improvement of the third film. The DVD releases were pretty mediocre.

A shame the 4th film is not available in the proper version on Blu

Exclamation Yes, it is worth it!

A Christmas present from Dec 07. I love my Die-Hard Blu-ray collection. Yes, I had the special DVD versions. Traded them in to Hastings in no time flat! Never a doubt! If you be a Die-Hard fan then go for the Blu!

I love all 4 films, but my favorites are the original and Live Free or Die Hard!

Other than the PG version of part 4 are the other versions the special editions or basic? I know its silly but the special features and extras are a thing for me.
Thanks guys.
