The Departed came in a 2-disc case? - Blu-ray Forum

I recently purchased a copy of The Departed from Amazon.ca and when I opened it I noticed that it was in a 2 disc style case. It's a typical WB style case just that there is also a disc holder button thing on the inside of the case on the left side opposite of the regular one on the right.

Anyone ever see this before? I know it's just a one disc movie....

my departed case felt so empty... It didn't come with any slips of paper or any extra stuff..

Just ONE DISK....and that it...everything empty D:

It has happened to me a couple of times. And it did actually happen with my copy of The Departed. They either ran out of single disc cases or the case happened to end up in the single disc case pile and the person didn't care or the disc may be put in automated. Sort of like the whole Harry Potter special edition discs being switched with the single disc versions back when they came out.

I got a few like this actually... out of my entire colleciton i'd say theres at least a
good 10 to 15 BD cases like that. And these are all bought new.

I just checked mine and its a 1 disc case.

I got Ocean's 13 and it came in a 2 disc case with 2 copies of the movie.

Speaking of 2 disk...isn't The Departed long overdue for a double dip 2 disk set lol. I was pretty ticked when it barely had any features. Scorsese is known of his commentaries and this lacked it.

Yeah the 2 disc DVD had more features but honestly unnecessary double dip. To this day the Departed I feel is the best upgrade from DVD to blu-ray I own. There's a huuuuuuge difference in PQ...

The blu-ray is pretty darn good already. The only thing it doesn't have from the DVD is the TCM profile, "Scorsese on Scorsese."

I saw it on TV, but honestly can't imagine myself re-watching it again and again, so no biggie for me. I know others may disagree.

I hear ya... Casino Royale and NCFOM really come to mind.

The Departed just isn't the same after you see it the first time. It was such a rush... now I know what's going to happen. That's how it goes with all movies...I mean you can't watch Titanic and think the ship won't sink this time lol. But The Departed was such a great film and totally deserved the best pic from Oscar.
