Is there a particular reason why different games and strangely, movies, spin-up differently when inserted?
I can understand games using more or less info from the disc, but why should it happen with movies, does each studio format/produce their discs differently? For example the latest Role Models Blu-ray and Halloween (new one) spin up really fast initially, before settling down, whereas the American Gangster and Death Race disc's don't spin up noticeably. Depends on how the discs are coded. PS3 games all have different elements to their game engines, so some take longer to load than others.
Same goes for Blu-ray movies, where you sometimes have very elaborate BD-Java menus and such, which take some prep time for the code to run (even on the very fast PS3). |
