TV Shows NOT in Blu? - Blu-ray Forum

Castle, season 1 on tuesday, and Life, seasons 1 and 2...all out on dvd but not blu-ray? The shows were broadcast in HD...were the ratings not high enough?

I love both these shows and would enjoy having them in my Blu collection.

Has anyone heard any news/rumors that they'll eventually be released?

(Californication is another one I'm wishing for)

Only saw the first few episodes of Castle. I would buy it on Blu if they put it out.

In some cases, I'm sure the studios are planning to double dip sometime down the road.

Neither are big enough hits to justify a blu release. Life lasted, what, barely 2 seasons? I'm sure NBC doesn't think it cost effective to release it on blu when nobody watched it for free when it aired. Dunno about Castle. Is it still on?

I Loved life. I was really hoping for a blu release. I didn't even know it got canceled.

Castle Season 2 starts tomorrow night!

I really wish Season 1 was getting a Blu-ray release. With those hopes in mind, I plan to hold out for one.

I'm hoping for Smallville season 1-5, Nip/Tuck season 1-3 and 5 (why only season 4 is on blu IDK) and Scrubs season 1-7.

At least when they killed the show they wrapped the storyline up. I loved the ending in the SUV's!

The worst case of this has to be Prison Break. They came out with season 3 on Blu-ray, then they went back and released season 1. They never put out season 2 and then when season 4 came out it was DVD only! Then the put out "The Final Break" which was comprised of 2 unaired episode straight to DVD and Blu-ray. For these shows that don't get big ratings/video sales the studios back away from Blu-ray, like Rescue Me and Nip/Tuck. Both of those had seasons available on Blu-ray and now further seasons have come out DVD only.

I'd like to see It's Always Sunny in Philladephia in Blu personally.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Six Feet Under, Carnivale, the rest of Nip/Tuck and Rescue me. Season 1 and 2 of Supernatural....the only seasons worth having on blu.

I agree. Maybe it will happen since they have It's A Very Sunny Christmas coming out in November.

I just read that 'The Unit' is coming out next week on Blu... why this show but not other BETTER shows? Personally I don't think that's a good show.

Some really good shows with awesome ratings don't even have blu release. The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, House, Psych and monk. While stupid shows like my name is earl, chuck, dollhouse and scrubs get a blu release.

Stargate: SG-1 and Atlantis need Blu treatments. It's unforgivable that all the studio is doing is releasing that lame "Fan's Choice" disc for Atlantis.

(The direct-to-video movies don't count.)
