Killzone 2 wows - Blu-ray Forum

So my brother just came over since he is back in state for a week on leave from army and I have been trying to get him to get a ps3 forever. He has a 360 but is on second one since first RROD on him but he got another but says he never plays it. Anyway, I've been dying for him to come check out the ps3 so I could show him what it can do since he has never seen one in action nor played one. I showed him the killzone 2 demo and he was like

. Said it was the best graphics he has ever seen so far. He couldn't believe it.

I said this is what the ps3 can do when a game is exclusive for it and built from ground up for ps3 instead of being a port made first for 360. I then showed him the wolverine demo and immediately he said "now see, this looks more like 360 games and graphics"

. All he talked about rest of time here was how awesome killzone 2 looked and he kept asking what the name of it was again. Looks like Killzone 2 might be a system seller for him!

Edit: by the way, I was already planning on picking up Killzone 2 at some point (just waiting for it to get cheaper), especiallly after playing through the full demo...game is freakin' awesome.

Also played some Mortal Kombat 2 with him since we grew up playing those games together all the time and it was just like old times. He even got pissed, cussed, and quit after a few whoopings. LOL. I said you gotta get a PS3 and buy MK2 so we can play online together. He said PS3 got the way better game with MK2 while 360 got Ultimate MK3.

I also showed off some blu-rays: Transformers, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Indina Jones (THX demo at start). Just wanted to say that he was blown away by ps3's graphics with Killzone 2. I think alot of people just need to actually see and play a ps3, especially see a game that is ps3 exclusive so they can see just what a beast the ps3 is and can be when fully utilized.

That's awesome. I think you're right that people really do not understand how powerfull the PS3 is until they see it themselves. Good choice in demo Blu's by the way and I second the motion for you to buy Killzone 2 (it's freakin' awesome).

Honestly I love killzone 2 and I'm not trying to start some huge fanboy debate but I really do not think it even comes close graphically to Gears of War 2...so for your brother to be amazed by it I really do not understand when I think Gears still to this day has better graphhics and matter of fact Resident Evil 5 looks better then Killzone also..but don't get me wrong Killzone looks amazing just not the best...

Killzone 2 was a great game and a good redemption from their first title.

As for the ps3, it was my first console choice for several years before I bought a xbox 360 for its exclusives and cheap price from a circuit city store closing sale.

Only a few games I enjoy more on the xbox but I will say that I feel that xbox has a better online experience.

Sony can change this but they need to get on the ball and start working on it instead of living with the belief that status quo is the best.

Cause Uncharted 2 looks better. Graphically, Uncharted 2 is the BEST!

But yea, Killzone 2 does indeed look great.

Yeah, I haven't played anything on the 360 that matches Killzone 2's graphical fidelity. Simply awesome! Even my 360 only friends are blown away when I show them KZ2, Uncharted and GT5:P (compare it to Forza 2 is a night and day difference in graphics and gameplay)

That said Uncharted: Drakes Fortune looks even better

And of course Uncharted 2:Among Thieves will most likely take the crown when it is released.

Really the PS3 exclusives destroy every other systems exclusives.

Multiplatform games are mixed bag, sometimes better, sometimes worse than the 360 versions.

Having had two 360's I really only miss the rare exclusive these days, like L4D (not visually impressive but fun looking), that game looks like a lot of fun.

Other exclusives for PS3 that already look amazing are Uncharted 2, God of War III, The Last Guardian, and Gran Turismo 5. Any of these are a cut above anything on the 360 right now.

Killzone 2 looks amazing for a console game yes. But most PC games even multiplats look better then Killzone 2 when run at 1920x1200 maxed out. And I agree that Uncharted 2 looks heaps better then Killzone 2. I think thats because Uncharted has chosen to be a colourful game with high resolution textures that makes it wow me more then Killzone 2 does.

condensed BS, I played Gears and it is a good game with really really ordinary graphics to say the least.
Seems like xbox owners think we never saw their box or its games.

Obviously that MosHighDef dude hasn't played it past the update for High Precision control. Online is where it's at though Radec map FTW.

WOW, I thought RE5 was subpar in graphics compared to ps3 exclusives, and gears looks good but its not the best, killzone 2 is just way more detailed and I dont want to bring up uncharted

. Again this is just my 2 cents not trying to start a war

I'll be the first to admit ...

KZ2 Default Controls suck .... UNLESS you go into the options menu and tinker with it to your liking.

I played with the weight control, x and y .. and set it up like COD settings. Ever since then, I got used to it and loved it!
