Default Good satellite speakers to put on a computer desk

My monitor only has 1 HDMI input and no audio inputs or outputs. I want to connect my XBox 360, PC, and Blu-ray player to my monitor and was considering buying an HDMI receiver and a pair of good satellite speakers and a subwoofer. Yes I know most people recommend at least bookshelf speakers for home theater use but this is going on my computer desk and my monitor is going to be used as my TV and no room for bookshelf speakers on my desk. I got rid of my TV in my bedroom and I don't feel like buying a TV again for at least a while when I can use my monitor.

Here's what I was considering for the speakers and subwoofer: http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/p...1&CTID=5003000

Do you have any other equipment? Such as a receiver, you will need a receiver for what you are planning.

This maybe the only time I seriously would recommend a nice HTiB. This is the same thing I did for my wife(she was my girlfriend at the time), when she was at her apartment.

I bought her a 26" LCD to connect to her computer to use as a monitor and for watching TV/DVD/Blu-ray.

I had an older HTiB that was perfect for her situation and this sounds about the same.

Or if you want something that is a little better then a HTiB

Jamo Speakers with sub $199.99

You didn't mention if you wanted HD sound or not..

If not

Denon AVR-589 $154.99

If you do

Denon AVR-790 $259.99

I have a older Denon the 789 in my bedroom and I love that receiver
