So I figure since this TV will likely be as popular as the 800s were last year, we should have a thread dedicated to reviews/comparisons/owner reviews of the G10 series televisions! So everyone please post your reviews/comments/concerns about your TVs here!
Professional Reviews: The HD Guru 50" G10 Review The CNET 50" G10 Review The WIRED Magazine 42" G10 Review The 'Trusted Reviews.com' 42" G10 Review more to come i'm sure Comparison (Shootout) Articles: My Review: This TV, out of the box, was too bright for my taste, even on THX mode (mind you, I do use it in a completely dark room) so I had to turn the brightness down quite a bit to get the black levels I wanted, but when I did this, the TV blew me away! Using the DVE Blu-ray, I found that even on THX mode, the factory settings for sharpness are far too high, and once adjusted looked worlds better. Another excellent use for the DVE disc was the demo materials, providing high quality reference images that are designed to give video processors problems (the G10 had none!) One thing that intrigued me about the TV is the fact that the packaged weight is 11kg (24lb) lighter than the 42PZ800 it is designed to replace. Where that 24lbs went is a mystery to me, as the only physical feature the G10 seems to lack is the swivel base. Pros: Great black levels, very accurate colors, full 1080 motion resolution, handles SD content better than many sets, SD card image/video viewer, cool red lights on remote Cons: No wireless connectivity for Vieracast, THX mode is brighter than on the PZ800s out of the box, requires some adjustments in any mode to achieve true black Last edited by allstar780; 05-17-2009 at 03:51 AM. |

http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/hdt...asma-hdtv.html Here are two more reviews. I love my G10. I just got done breaking it in, and man it looks great! Right now I'm using the THX setting and I don't see any reason not to until(or unless) I get a pro cal. Colors are excellent, detail is amazing, blacks are great, shadow detail is nice, and even the wife loves it! Some on AVS complain about the THX mode being too dim but I think it looks great.
