You asked if it will ever get released. Of course it will. It just hasn't been announced yet.

Do you honestly think one of the most acclaimed films of all time, directed by one of the most acclaimed filmmakers in history, won't EVER be released on blu-ray? Come on...

It's clearly in demand, as Amazon has a notification placeholder for it. They only create those for 2 reasons: #1, they've been alerted by the publisher that it's coming, although the exact release date is unknown, or #2, so many people search for it that Amazon puts up the placeholder to motivate you to buy from them when it DOES come out.

I actually just had a dream about watching this movie on Blu the other night after I watched Black Hawk Down for the umpteenth time (yes, I dream about Blu-ray... sue me). Glad you posted asking about it. It's one of my faves.

lol....I am relatively new to blue ray scene.My problem is that being based in UK (region2)some movies are not available here in blueray....example "Cold Mountain"which is available in the US...so won't play on my player

.I sure hope that that private ryan is released for region 2 as well.

No blu yet, but I do have one of these... the DTS version is hard to come by, but if you have one it sure is kewl
