Heavy Rain movie in the works

Well as no suprise this wonderful game was destinded for a film adaption of it's own. David Milch, creator of the HBO series Deadwood is penning the script. Right after he finishes a script for a new show he's writting for HBO.

I for one am very excited to see this game commited to celluloid.

What's you guys thoughts?

Brad Pitt as lead role?

Matthew Fox, Casey Affleck, Tom Berrenger, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Danielle Harris. There's your cast.

That's a good cast, however I would replace Casey Affleck with Zachary Quinto, and Danielle Harris with Eliza Dushku.

I haven't played the full game yet so most people would disregard this opinion. But I think a hollywood adaptation is redundant for Heavy Rain. This game comes as close to a movie as a game can get. It's an interactive "movie".

It's very movie like. I like it!

Still, I wouldn't mind seeing this turned into a movie, or better yet a mini series.

Exactly.

If they make it a sequel or a movie not related to any of the characters in the game, then it would work. If they try to make the same story into a film, it will fail.

Completely unecessary to turn this game into a film. Part of the charm is the ability to adapt the story according to your own decisions based on what you are presented with. A film version will lock your experience into someone else's decisions. That completely defeats the purpose of the artistic intent of the original material.

I dunno, the first time I played Heavy Rain, I was thinking the detective looked like Paul Sorvino.

Casey Affleck makes me so depressed when i watch him, lol really, he makes me feel like the sun will never shine again. However he would suit the mood of a Heavy Rain film perfectly

Should be great but the games into movie history is very very poor.
Hopefully this will be the exception (and the Uncharted movie providing Marky Mark isn't cast in the lead for that)

For me a good cast could be:

Hugh Jackman (lead aka the dad)
Brian Dennehy (the P.I.)
Nathan Fillion (if he's not playing Drake in Uncharted) or Casey Affleck (FBI guy)
Natalie Portman or Mila Kunis (hooker)
Rachel Weisz (the mom)
Mark Ruffalo (the police detective)
Random Kid (the kid)

That'll do me just fine

I don't see the point and for anyone that's played the game, well, we know who did it!

Maybe the blu-ray will have seamless branching to a choice of endings!!
