Default Watchable "chick-flicks" on Blu-ray?

By watchable I mean ones that arent so sappy and cliche that a dude could sit there and watch it without too much agony.

I ask because ive recently started a relationship and each time she has come over and if we decided to watch a movie, she comments that all my movies are "guy" movies. this makes sense as ive been single for the last year or so and bought all my movies with myself in mind

however id like to diversify and add some movies to my collection that might be more gender neutral, or even "chick flick" material as long as i would find it watchable

I have Jerry Maguire already and i love that movie to death, but i dont consider it a chick flick to be honest

any ideas?

Ghost is a really good chick flick. It actually gets quite dark as well. Meet Joe Black(somewhat chick flick) is good too. If I had to pick two chick flicks that don't make me want to inflict pain on someone, those are them.

I think really what you are looking for is liek what CheapChildren posted. Which are movies tolerated by both men and women.

Since most men consider something called a "chick flick" is not tolerable men.

man.. luckily my relationship is in the marriage category..

I've tried to convince my wife that there is no need to get romantic, girly movies
on blu-ray.. they're best for sci-fi, action, man movies.. lol

so far I have 2 chick-flicks.. The Notebook and Dear John.. I was able to sit
through them..

maybe get some family movies from Disney if she enjoys them?!?

my wife has already mentioned she wants Bridesmaids when it comes out later
this month..

I was going to recommend this. I wrote it off as a "chick flick" when it came out, but after watching Atonement and Hanna (also by Joe Wright), I went back and watched it. Terrific movie, and the Blu-ray has great PQ too. Keira Knightley is very good in it, plus she's eye candy for the guys.

I have to say the best "chick-flick" I've seen is The Time Traveler's Wife. I've seen it twice and would watch it again. don't tell my buddies....

"Going the Distance" has Justin long and Jason Sudeikis pretty sappy but at least his friends make fun of him for it

The Adjustment Bureau ends up being a weird concatenation of some quasi-thriller mystery elements wrapped around a core that is kind of like the ultimate Chick Flick—you know, the kind where True Love can't be undone by Bad Things happening to Beautiful People.
Quote:
this film can't quite decide if it wants to be a star-crossed lovers romantic fantasy or a sort of Inception-lite attempt at morphing reality in unexpected ways.
Quote:
If, on the other hand, you want nothing more than an OK chick flick, with lovers fighting against impossible (and even supernatural) odds, you'll probably find a lot to like in The Adjustment Bureau,

Just a few suggestions:

"The Man in the Moon" (Reese Witherspoon's acting debut.)

"Moulin Rouge"

"Rob Roy"

"BraveHeart"

"Last of the Mohicans"
