Dr. Strangelove a no go? - Blu-ray Forum

Had this Blu Ray movie in my hands today but Futureshop wouldn't let me purchase it! Two copies on the shelf priced at $36 cdn but it didn't register at the check-out. They said sry, no can do.....perhaps the release date was pushed back(again)?

Any Canadians score this flick today.

P.S. One of my top 5 fav films.

i ordered from Amazon and it says delivery expected 6/17. This better be true.
$36 price tag. Geez, glad i was able to get $5 knocked off with that sony coupon. I think it was only $17.99 after that, but i would've paid whatever to get this immediately even if there was no deal. I guess stuff really is more expensive in Canada.

Not always but very often it is by a bit of a margin, always depend how well our dollar is doing next to the american one.

Now it would be sad if it was push back, would that not be the second time? I sure hope it's not for the fans.

Didn't buy it myself, but it was on the shelf at Futureshop this morning.
Guy in front of me in line had it however, and had no problems buying it...

There has been a bunch of people on AVS saying you cannot get the Canadian Verison for some reason. My guess is a non bi-lingual cover or something.

Anyone contacted Sony about this yet?

Bought the US version here in Hong Kong on the 14th, and the movie is great! Hope you guys in Canada can get it soon.

Mine is in the mail to me in Canada but it's from amazon.com. My very last order from them from a very long time ago even before they added import deposit fees.

So I got a call from the FS I was at the other day saying they had a tech glitch and they're holding a copy for me. Gonna pick me up a copy in da morrow!

Yeah I rarely go to Best Buy or Future Shop since there are other stores much closer to me but went on Tuesday I went to Best Buy to get Generation Kill and John Adams since $57.99 sure beats $79.99 that most other stores seem to have those at and figured I might as well get Strangelove and Powder Blue from them too. But with Strangelove they said they couldn't sell it until December (I am amazed the guy said it with a straight face because I am sure he had to realize how absurd it was having something in stock and having the computer say it couldn't be sold for six months) and Powder Blue was at least next week and I am not sure they even had it anyway. But went to HMV after that and got both without problem so all ended well and just had to make one more stop

I went to look yesterday for DR.S but they didn't have it. I did however, notice that they had put the blu-ray Generation Kill next to the DVD GK on a display. The DVD version was listed as $40 and of course, they put the blus right there with it. I went to the register and showed the guy and he honoured the price. I love how even BestBuy can't tell if something's a blu-ray!

Got it yesterday and I must say it's a nice package(digibook).
The PQ/AQ is excellent!
FS apologized for the glitch.

So now I have a recorded from TV vhs copy, a vhs store bought copy, a laser disc copy(criterion), a DVD copy and now a BR copy.....yikes

I am a new fan to the movie. I heard so much about it for years, and I finally bought it on Blu... I must say I truly love it alot!!!
