Default Mutant Chronicles on Sci Fi Channel 6/27

I was just watching Equilibrium on Sci Fi channel and they showed a commercial advertising that Mutant Chronicles will be shown next Saturday June 27. Did anyone else see that?

Did this ever hit the theaters in the US?

Nope. never made it theatrically in the US. Straight to Television, to me, feels worse than Straight to Video when it comes to movies that get the boot when it's supposed to go theatrical. Same with sequels to theatrical movies too. Like House of the Dead 2 or the 2 Anacondas sequels when the first and second film went theatrical.

I was very excited when I saw the trailer for this, then I saw it wasn't released in the US, and it was a limited release, and now this. Thanks for posting though, I set it to record and I am eager to see it but after all that I'm thinking that this may not be the greatest movie of all time. Still looks cool though.

Not untill 7/07/09 I believe. I'm still holding out hope that someone at that network will get a clue.

Ditto here. The visual style was kinda cool - sorta the Sky Captain and 300 effect... but it really turned out to be a terrible movie.

I'll watch it on Saturday but I'm hoping it will be some what decent. If so, I'll pick up the blu. From the trailers, the movie looked like it had so much potential. All in all, it doesn't look good that it has gone strait to TV. Oh well we'll see.

Actually, it had a limited theatrical run on April 24th, 2009 but had a one night "sneak preview" airing on HDNet Movies on March 27th, 2009.

The HDNet Movies airing was in its 1.85:1 aspect ratio and uncut & commercial free while the SciFi version will be 1.78:1 and edited for content & include commercial breaks.

yeah, it was pretty good, not great though. It did have some good moments. I hope they really "do up" the audio with a pounding lossless there is a lot of potential for heavy LFE through and lots of surround too. the movie was violent and pretty bloody at times. that is what "doom" the movie should have been more like. if they do it right, it will sell on blu!
