Default 'The Prince' - Bruce Willis

Quote:
Bruce Willis to Star in 'The Prince'

News out of Toronto International Film Festival has Bruce Willis set to star in the modestly-budgeted action-thriller, The Prince. Scripted by Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore (Red Dawn), The Prince centers on “a retired Las Vegas mob enforcer [who] is forced to return to the city and face his former enemies when his teenage daughter goes missing. Willis plays a man who has waited years for the enforcer to return, and a confrontation is inevitable.” Sarik Andreasyan (American Heist) will direct the film, which just secured financing from Emmett/Furla Films (via Deadline). The production is currently in casting mode and is looking to start filming in New Orleans this October.

except Willis is NOT the man whose daughter was kidnapped. He's the guy whos been waiting for him to come back to Vegas - one of his enemies.

...but who cares. The Bruce Willis we knew and loved is long, long gone. He just phones in his roles now, and in mostly terrible movies. I havent cared about a Bruce movie in years.

I love Bruce Willis when he's making movies that are out of his normal, going through the motions, action films. Things like 'Looper', 'Moonrise Kingdom', 'Grinddhouse', 'Lucky Number Slevin', and 'Sin City' are a few of his best performances, and he's done so well in them. This could be one of those films, and that's what has me intrigued.

Yes, the Bruce Willis of action fandom is long gone, because he doesn't care about those roles anymore. If he really wants to get away from them, then he needs to change his focus altogether on more movies like I listed above. Then he'll have people's attention again.

So much for Willis being bored of action films.

And from the writer of Red Dawn...no thanks.

same here. Besides his own lazy paycheck acting, there's his diva behavior and his complete disrespect for the people he's working with and for. Well, Bruce, you're bored with making films - which is fine because we're bored of watching them, and as we hear more and more about your attitude making them, you've pretty much driven away much of your audience.

Doesn't this sound like it should go straight to DVD/BLURAY and skip the theatres?

HUGELY misleading cover there. It's actually (in the US) Assassination of a High School President, and the synopsis is "At a Catholic high school, the popular girl teams up with a sophomore newspaper reporter to investigate a case of stolen SAT exams. Once the duo target their suspects, a larger conspiracy is unearthed. "
