Default My home made speaker floor stands

Materials:
- Quad Drain Multipurpose Floor Drain x 2
- PVC Pipe x 3
- PVC Pipe Coupler x 2

and then I had some wall speaker mounts laying around. I found all of this at Home Depot (minus the mounts) for under $25. Put the pipes together and screwed the mount into the pipe and spray painted it black. Here's the end-ish result. I'm going back tomorrow to find a cap for the top of the pipe and I'm gonna put a second coat on. Tell me how you like them.

New pics!

Very creative - nothing like custom-built stuff to bring satisfaction!

The only matter of concern is that they look like they might tip over quite easily without either a wider base or fastening to the floor. Definitely don't put them near where people walk, lest they get knocked over.

Yeah I'm going to maybe put a bag of sand or something of the like in the base to keep it weighted. Or if I find a better base that fits I can just take the current base off and change them out.

could you make the PVC pipes adjustable somehow?...meaning you could raise or lower them to make adjustments? This would also help with having the rear surrounds higher above your head than the L/C/R mains being at ear height.

You could even consider drillinga small hole in the tube and running the wires down the center and out the bottor or another small hole that would help with wire managment and make it generaly safer to walk around. Great job. Perfect it and you may have some buyers here........

Right now I they aren't adjustable but that definitely doesn't mean it's not possible. When I go by Home Depot to get some stuff I forgot I'll look around.

Haven't tried them just yet cause I forgot a pipe for the 2nd stand when I went yesterday. So I'm gonna run by there today and grab it and should be done with them a little later today. I'll update the thread when I'm done.

Creative idea! Now could you make some to hold up a 10 pound speaker?

should definitely make some for your front left and right speakers. It would help to get those up more ear level and spaced out abit. Will really widen the sound stage.

creative and functional, just not the nicest looking things. Maybe a one piece pipe without the coupler in the middle of it would be an option for you.
