Is there a way to backup all of my saved files from my PS3 on my laptop? I'm upgrading my PS3's hard drive to 500gb and I was just wondering if there was a way. I don't have a usb thumb drive or anything.

It needs to show up as USB storage device for the PS3.. which I don't think you can do with a laptop. Maybe there is some program that can make it so..

If you use your laptop, you'll probably need a male-to-male USB cable which will run you just as much as the USB key, and there's no guarantee that the PS3 will interpret the laptop's HDD as a writable disk. |

The PS3 needs to interpret your laptop as an external USB drive. There might be software out there that can do it... that's about your only choice other than just getting a USB key or an external drive like the one you mentioned for $95. |
