Default Comapring these models, I need some help!

I have been reading a lot that Plasma > than LCD on these forums

Better blacks, etc, etc

I am really torn on what model tv to get

here are the 3 I am looking at:

Panasonic VIERA 50" 1080p 600Hz Plasma HDTV TC-P50G10....$1199

or

Panasonic VIERA 54" 1080p 600Hz Plasma HDTV TC-P54S1....$1377

or

Sony BRAVIA S-Series KDL-52S5100 52-Inch....$1239

all prices incl free shipping & no sales taxes

basically, 2 Panasonic Plasma's VS 1 Sony 52" LCD

my last big screen purchases have been Sony's, I am partial to that brand call it brand loyalty, I love my PS3, I am a big blu ray fan but today I have been reading great things about the Pana plasma's, and I must say I really dont know what to do.

50" is about as small as I want to go, the 54" is more the size I am looking for, but looks like I missed all the sales prices during black friday, its now hovering around $1400 or so.

I also like the Sony's size and price, but its only 2" bigger than a 50", and LCD, I dont even think comparing a 50" to a 52" side by side you could even tell the difference in size lol

My last sony purchase was a 50" RP base model about 3 years ago, for $1500, it was a pretty good tv, but I'm over RP tv's and want something I can hang on the wall and not have to wait to warm up, change bulbs etc.

My question is, forgetting the Sony and comparing the 2 Panasonic Plasma's, is that cost difference justified for 4 more inches of viewing space?, I am not that worried about the IR issues with a plasma...what am I gaining or losing with those 2.

Also, what is this I have been reading about 3:2 mode for blu ray, I dont understand what thats about?

The Majority of the tv's use will be HD broadcast cable and Blu rays & ps3 games.

I need some help making my mind up

cheers

Gav
