Children of the Corn Broken Street Date @ Best Buy - Blu-ray Forum

So I was browsing in my local Best Buy tonight when I happened upon "Children of the Corn". I turned to my wife and said: "I had no idea this was even out!" I snapped it up and returned home, went to add it to my collection and noticed that it said "available for pre-order" on Amazon. I thought to myself that maybe Best Buy had broken street date a week early or something, but it's listed as coming out 8/25/09! I had never heard of this occurring and thought I would share. I'm also interested to know if this is isolated to my store or if it's chain-wide.

wow, nice find. not the best movie but i remember the trailer scaring me as a kid.

i hate when stores like Fry's put out titles early, then refuse to sell them to you because they technically aren't released yet. I say, if its on the shelf, then you should be able to buy it.

I think it's a timed exclusive.

I heard that it is a Best Buy exclusive for the next 2 months available only in Best Buy stores and not even on their own website. I just bought this today as well.

That's truly bizarre, I have never heard of that occurring with a low profile title like this, only with stuff like "Twilight". Thanks for the info.

This is true. It is a Best Buy timed exclusive.

The Man with Golden Gun and Moonraker were Best Buy exclusives in one of those volume sets when they released those earlier than everyone else.

Yeah it is an exclusive... Ipicked it up the BLU-RAY.com review was not very good. IN Fact I felt the transfer was top notch and reflects the film source as best as possible. It isn't a very good film but the transfer is really good.

I did however find THE DEEP released last Thursday early as Best Buy.

The only New release that I've seen at BB before it's supposed to hit the steet date was Final Destination.

Got a lot of info displayed on that receipt, be careful.

I actually can't watch this. I have a lot of corn around my house and I hate having to go everywhere "packin."
