Default Center Channel Location - Please help

Is it ok to recess a Klipsch center channel into a wall? Should I be worried about sound issues. I would think it would be ok since speakers are placed in an area of an entertainment center which is essentially what I'm doing, only difference is the entertainment center is my wall. It will be open in the front, closed in the back and sides

You're fine. Mostly vocal tracks come from center. As long as nothing is blocking the cones in front and a reasonable amount on each side. If it is in lets say, beneath the tv in side the tv stand AND inside the wall, you might have an issue.
Is the tv mounted on the wall? Is the center channel going above or below the screen?

Where is the port on your center channel? If it is on the back of your center channel, I would not recommend doing this, as it could make the dialogue rather flat sounding and boxey, if you ask me.

I'll second that!

Check this article: How Speakers Radiate Sound: Why Wall Units are the Enemy.

Here's a quote from that article:
"Knowing this, it's not difficult to understand what happens when you put a tower speaker (or a bookshelf model) inside a wall unit, credenza, or entertainment center. The surfaces in the wall unit's cavity at each side and above and below it, create a set of near-field reflections that don't exist when the speaker operates normally unencumbered by cabinetry. These cancel and reinforce at various frequencies, affecting the linearity of the system and producing all kinds of nasty anomalies and unmusical colorations."
You could also get some information from Klipsch about the recommended clearing for you speaker.

It looks like my ports are on the sides of the woofers and the horn is in the middle. The only thing on the back is the terminals.

Oh and the tv will be mounted on the wall, with the center recessed in the wall, below the tv

Consider Johk's advice and article. Even on the sides, it will create the anomolies described in the article. If you can stay away from putting it in any enclosure, I would recommend doing so.

sorry, I meant on the sides on the front of speaker. So they are in the front, just to the left and right of the woofers
