Default The Upscalers

You know them, the people who swear up and down they can live with the upscaled version of a given movie.
I know a few upscalers myself, couple guys I work with. They are very new into the world of high definition entertainment, again very new. So one of them is over to my house to check out the work I've done on the theater and I put in Quantum of Solace for a good demo, you know the opening car scene, great picture, great sound... anyway, after it was done he actually says "I don't really see what the difference is".
This guy is watching a 42 inch LG, with an upscaler DVD player that he thinks is HD and plays his movies in HD and refuses to pony up for the Bluray.

I am at a loss. And as I thought about my friend the upscaler I came across a good number of them HERE, at bluray.com. What is wrong with these people?

And to give this a topic here are some of the worst upscaled movies that used to look good on CRT...

Braveheart
Gangs of New York
Lord of the Rings
All the Pixar movies - after seeing them Blu the upscaled DVDs remind one of pre-production animatics.
Willow

The list goes ever on and would probably include every DVD I own by the time I was done, just can't watch them anymore.
