Question Is PC compatible?

I dont even know if your PC needs to be compatible to install a blu-ray drive, but I'd like to be sure before I throw 100 dollars on it.

To make it easy Im'a list the questions:
  • How does the drive connect in the PC? (Do you need a "newer" comaptible motherboard?)
  • Can a blu-ray drive only run blu-ray / HD movies or is it also meant for game CDs and general normal use of CDs for anything (installation, gaming etc.)
  • When it comes to HD Audio, what is requirements and how is it connected? (Does the blu-ray drive even has anything to do with it?)

The drive I wanna buy is: http://www.cdrlabs.com/Reviews/lg-gg...d-dvd-rom.html

Recommended?

- Thanks in advance.

Here is what you do go to Cyberlink.com and under Support download
a small program called Blu-ray Advisor.

This program will test out your system, and will let you know if your system
could play blu ray movies.

as for that LG drive remember it's a SATA drive make sure your motherboard supports it.
You could always purchase a PCI to SATA controller card if needed.

But first make sure your computer and monitor could play Blu rays.
