Hi guys - I'm trying to promote Blu-Ray to my company, and I need to know how many Blu-Ray titles are available right now.

Does anyone know?

In the US?
And globally?

A while back, probably late last year when I was getting into blu's and HT stuff, I remember reading that there were around 1,200 in the US. Probably around 1,400 or 1,500 now

Well Amazon is kinda weird. You can find movies from Amazon UK, JP, etc. in there also, as well as movies listed multiple times. So I don't quite believe that number, although it may be that many. Kind of hard to believe that they release 3,000 USA blu's in less than a year. Amazon isn't my authority for blu numbers

Anywhere around 3000 to 4000 distinct releases on Blu-ray in the U.S. sounds about right. The cost of producing a Blu-ray has kept the number of new releases from exploding exponentially. Dvd in comparison had more titles available at a similar point in that format's lifespan.
