Default The Fast and the Furious Blu-ray Releases

I don't know if things like this bother anyone else, but I've been looking to get all of the Fast and the Furious movies on Blu-ray, and there seems to be a common running theme, and that's that they seem to have trouble keeping the covers consistent. Twice it looks like they tried to have a running theme going, but in both runs of the releases, the (currently) final chapter in the series is a totally different style.

I feel like this will eat at me every time I look at it if I were to buy them. First world problems, I know, but still, my obsessive compulsive/completionist nature demands that I get them all! Does anyone else feel this way about any other releases?

There's NEVER gonna be a consistent look to these releases until they stop making sequels, and that's not gonna happen for a LONG time.

Yeah, this irked my brother and I. For 1-7 we had the covers with the square-shaped image within the colored border and the number on the spine. Then The Fate of the Furious comes out and, as you said, is completely different for no apparent reason at all. The fact they'd kept that particular style going for so long was surprising to begin with and then they had to just screw it all up.

I'm still glad I picked up the Best Buy steelbooks when they came out, seeing as 8's artwork was consistent with the others (Front/Back) for the time being...
[Show spoiler]Until the Hobbs & Shaw spinoff comes out in 2019 and Fast & the Furious 9 comes out in 2020.

They said 10 is the last one, so about 4-5 years.

Even with that, you get the point. Inconsistency kills my obsessive compulsion. lol

Well, for any major franchise, the movie studios bet on the fact that fans will double dip just to get the new Blu-ray covers. It's sort of reminiscent of the comic book industry and the collector's market for paperback novels.

The DCEU, MCU, Star Wars, Star Trek, Fast and Furious, Planet of the Apes, James Bond, Godzilla ... these are just prime examples of this because they want fans of these franchises to buy the new releases just for the artwork. This is the sole reason (that I believe) why the online community dedicated to customized DVD and Blu-ray artwork continue to design their own covers for home video releases that have a universal style for those respective franchises.

With two more main Fast and Furious movies set to be released, expect the cover designs to change at least twice more. Unfortunately, there's nothing anyone can do about it. These movie studios, if they see dollar signs in front of them, will continue to do this for the unforeseeable future.
