Default PS3 Game v. BD Packaging ???

Hello,

I am wondering why the PS3 games are not packaged in the same blue packaging as the blu ray movies. I am not sure if this has been answered before, but it seems odd that Sony would not use the same blue color on the games to further promote blu ray.

Thanks,

Matthew Rounds

ones a blu-ray movie and the other a blu-ray game. An abvious difference so why not different cases?

I'd also say that the games are a Sony specific product, or at least meant to be played on a Sony specific player.

BRDs represent a group of companies that created it, and the content is meant to be played players from Multiple vendors.

I think it was a good idea to differentiate them.

I wish the game cases were as thin as the movie cases.

I have 3 blu-ray cases that are as thick as the ps3 game cases and one thin blu-ray case. I really dont care about the thickness lol.

And there is a difference between the two. One is a Blu-Ray movie, the other a Blu-Ray game. Also, DVD movie cases are usually black (you get the odd dvd with a different colour) and ps2 DVD game cases were mostly blue and Xbox and Xbox 360 DVD cases were green.
Its just to show differences.
A new console lets say a PS4 or a Xbox 720 would have different colour cases but they may still be blu-ray. What better disc could you ask 4?

The cases are thicker because of the game booklets. The gaming booklets probably wouldn't fit into a Blu-ray case. Also, I think it would create all kinds of confusion for people who think it looks the same as a Blu-ray disc. I should be able to use it in may Blu-ray player. Look at all the people who ordered the HD-DVD version of Planet Earth and thought they could play it on their DVD players.

Every ps2 game I've ever bought had a black case just like every dvd case.

That certainly didn't create mass confusion, so I don't see why they don't have the ps3 game cases blue

Most of my ps2 game cases are blue. I got the odd black one here and there. PS3 game cases are games not movies. Its simple. They decided to colour code them. To prevent mass confusion or just for plain fun, PS3 game cases are white, Blu-Ray movie cases are blue. I think its kinda cool.

You may notice:

DVD's and PS2 game cases had covered the whole spine up with the film or game title. But Blu-Ray movie cases and PS3 game cases dont, they have a little bit at the top left. If they were all blue and lined up together it may confuse dumb people but will the two different colors, its easy to tell the difference.
