Default My earlier post and HANNIBAL...........

Earlier today I posted about being upset about some Blu marketing, and have been pretty well flamed because of it (although a few responders seem to agree with some of my complaints). Anyway, one of my complaints was about the single release of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and the subsequent release of the three title HANNIBAL COLLECTION. My question now is - has anyone here seen the Blu discs of MANHUNTER and HANNIBAL and if so, how was the PQ? I've become pretty well resigned to the fact that if I want those other two Hannibal titles, I'll have to buy Silence again. I just don't want to find out that the PQ is terrible on those two titles. Thanks

you could search the movies on this site which does list a review of the pq and aq and also user reviews

Agreed. I rented Hannibal instead of a purchase because of the tepid reviews and reactions I had encountered. Though I count it among my favorite movies (I love the story and the scenery around Florence and Chesapeake Bay), I have yet to buy it. There are many shots, including the opening one, that look as soft as DVD on my display.

Despite the pq issues, it was still a pleasure to watch.

I mentioned this on a couple threads already, but someone at MGM/Fox should have gotten their ass kicked over the PQ on Hannibal. That said, the sound is significantly better than the DVD (the opera scene sounds wonderful). Manhunter is the opposite, where the PQ looks really good for a film of its vintage (though DNR lovers may find it too grainy), while the audio is meh (but there's only so much you can do w/ a 20+ year old film w/ a less than steller sound design).
