Anybody know why the videos dont work on the PS3's browser? it says "this video is not available on your platform"

Nope. It works for me. I just finished catching up on Naruto Shippuden (60 episodes over 2 days). I finished about an hour ago. Maybe you need to delete your cache and restart your browser.

i havent tried yet but what version of your ps3 are u running? Does 2.80 play hulu?

I tried playing hulu a few weeks ago and it kinda lags slightly when put in full screen (and even when not).

Wish it would run smoothly.

Why would you hit the full screen button instead of just expanding it to full screen via R2? Hulu runs smoothly on my PS3. Only the ads stutter a bit.

To the OP, I just tried Hulu, again. I'm getting that message too. Hulu is doing something, but it's not the PS3. Like I said, I played Naruto Shippuden ALL day today without a problem.

How do you delete those files? and what does that have to do with playing video?

I have a 60gig. and i just updated to 2.80.

I have a 40g and 2.8 and it did the same thing when I tried to play an episode of "Mental"

Weird I tried a few days aggo and it worked.

Given that the content is available for free, blocking specially the PS3 would seem ... weird.

Pandora Radio works amazingly well I have to say.

Can't think of another reason why it would say it doesn't work with your "platform" though.

The PlayStation 3 has kept access to Hulu even without PlayOn or other workaround while others were blocked -- with the exception of its own remote friendly desktop software -- thanks to its browser's Flash support, but this morning multiple users have reported the above message indicating "Unfortunately, this video is not available on your platform. We apologize for any inconvenience." Some odd glitch related to the recent 2.80 firmware update or other temporary problem, or is this the latest platform to get the Boxee treatment when trying to bring streaming video to TV screens? We've reached out to Hulu for an explanation but so far, haven't heard a response. Interestingly, the Hulu TOS was just updated as of June 26, and although we haven't found any PS3-specific passages, changing a browser's user-string to match the console reveals it is definitely being specifically blocked.

It didn't work before i updated. i thought updating to 2.80 would fix it.

It appears that Hulu is specifically blocking PS3s - someone tried masking their PC browser and giving it a connect string the same way a PS3 would and got the same message.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to use PMServer to get around Hulu's BS. It's a good thing I watched those 60+ Naruto Shippuden episodes over the last couple of days. I must've sensed it coming.

It's rather unfortunate to watch Hulu try to put the genie back in the bottle. They correctly observed from youtube that people wanted free, online streaming videos, and we compromised by accepting that with advertising. Now Hulu's discovered that too many people prefer it over higher revenue sources, so instead of working on higher ad rates for Hulu they're trying to push people back to broadcast/cable TV?

Anyone more familiar with these arcane aspects of the Internet than I am, need help in troubleshooting:

After finding out that the PS3 browser could tap into YouTube, I'd gotten hooked on grabbing streaming reruns from Hulu.com, putting them on Fullscreen, and using the PS3 as a free download machine (since the PS Store is too unreliable )--
Worked fine up until now, but as of a day or two ago, I've been getting "block" messages on Hulu telling me there's an anonymous proxy in the way, which disqualifies streaming...Yet the exact same streams work fine on the desktop Mac, so it's not likely a problem with the Internet connection itself.
(Also unable to login, since the lack of Java makes it hard to click some of the buttons, and I just can't hit the Login with a controller.)

Anyone know whether I need to adjust settings on the PS3 itself, and why the connection would have problems one day and not earlier?
(And is it possible to put other browsers on the darn thing??)
