Acer AS5739G Blu-ray Laptop - Blu-ray Forum

I'm looking into purchasing the Acer AS5739G Blu-ray equipped Laptop. Has any one here purchased this model. It was meant to be released end of June, according to Blu-ray.com, but I am having real problems finding any etailers actually stocking it. Recommended retail price is $750 but does anyone here have an actual "shop" price. This looks like a real winner, so I'd appreciate anyone's views on this laptop.

I've been looking for this also ever since reading the article here. The only place I've found that has the model is newegg, but it's listed as only having a dvd Super Multi drive. Maybe they are behind schedule on releasing the actual blu version.

The AS5739G comes with a DVD (not Blu-ray) drive. Acer issued a corrected press release:

"DVD drive specification for Acer Aspire AS5739G should read: 8X DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive (listed 8X Blu-ray Disc/DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive)"

I have decided on a similar model from Acer. It has similar specs but has a smaller (14.1) screen, a larger hard drive (320GB) and a built in Blu-ray player. I pick it up this coming Monday. My wife says its the most gorgeous laptop she has ever seen.
