this series of speakers is awesome i have 5 of the l-890s, 2- 830, 1- lc2, 2- l820, and i 8400p you will be very pleased with your choice of speakers the sub will sound different depending on the room, lie it wasn't very good in my 600sq ft theater room but it shakes the door in my liv. room

I don't have this series of speakers, but I'm very happy with my JBL's. JBL offerings in this price range and higher are excellent speakers. The ones you are considering got a very good review on Cnet. The reviewer didn't like the looks and the large size a whole lot, but praised the sound quite a bit. My only suggestion would be to find a different sub. I'm sure the JBL is good, but for home theater use you would do yourself a big favor by getting a sub from a sub maker like HSU, SVS, etc. You will typically get much better performance for the same money when going this route.

that sub will be more than enought for your bedroom, get the larger center , the lc2 and it will hang on the wall and be sure to bi-amp those towers if you can. you got some nice stuff there.

onkyo 507 has no bi amping, does this make a big difference?
chose this model because it was 200€ cheaper then the 606/7
and because i dont have the need or the room for 7.1

I'm not questioning the power of the sub, but this sub is going for $500 on Amazon and if that's the typical price you can do a lot better. This sub is only rated down to 22hz and for the same money you can get sub that goes considerably lower. ED subs are rated down to 18hz or lower. SVS also has subs rated for 17hz and lower. At this price point I just don't see a reason to go with the JBL and I think most users in this forum will agree.

biamping gives a bit better efficiency from your speakers and amp and these speakers like power, as far as subs go the Polks that i have in my HT are much more powerful than my JBL but i bought my JBL first and only gave 375. from Harman Audio on ebay(auction) its refurb. but i couldn't/can't tell it.don't be afraid to mix a different brand sub but if aesthetics count the JBL will do nicely.

I use JBL Stadium towers (like yours, but from the previous year) in a bedroom setup, and they sound great. I think they are the best-sounding speakers in that price range. I think you will be happy with that setup.

I'm very happy with my JBLs. I've had different models of JBLs since the late 70s and have never had a complaint.

Hey, I got my receiver from Harman on Ebay and man are they excellent to deal with. I got it for $220 shipped and it came with a full year warranty in its original box and there isn't even a scratch on it. I think the majority of their items are just store returns with no problems and they just give you a huge discount on them. I recommend anyone looking at Harman products to look them up on Ebay for some excellent deals.

they are not a necessity and are best used @ the receiver end of the speaker wire , but they are rather inexpensive and make a nice clean install not to mention the fact its easier to plug in your speaker wire rather than twisting those little knobs on the back of your receiver which are usually too close together so go ahead and get yourself a set i got some of the Nakamichi brand off ebay from a guy here in the States.

I have those except that i have the LC2 and 2 L8400. The build quality and sound quality of series is great. I think you will enjoy them, but of course it all comes down to your own ear. Personally I am more than happy with em.
