Default 2 a.m. Movies

This thread is for listing movies you like to watch at 2am.

Ya know, some movies just have that special something that make you say

"it's 2 a.m., i have the next day off of work, i'm gonna put -movie title- in!"

give reasons if you can:
____
mine are;
-'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'. Because for some reason, travel-adventure movies are really what i wanna see at 2am.
-'The Matrix'. Because it's still exciting to me, and I feel it's a little mezmerizing.
-'Pirates of the Caribbean: 1, 2 or 3, but mostly COTBP'. Again, because it's a travel-adventure movie.

The Jacket - the feel of this movie just lends itself to LATE viewing.

Sunshine - I like seeing this in absolute darkness and the quiet of the early morning.

But honestly, I usually stay up to 1 or 2 anyway. I'm a night person.

Noticed that you have headphones in your pictures, I know it's not the same but does it sound pretty good while watching a movie?

Well, doesn't have to be Dolby-surround home theater...

As it was years ago, it still is today:
2am is for B-movies. Cheap, glorious B-movies.
Hammer, or Amer. Int'l Vincent Price, if possible

Figured I'd need at least Bose headphones while using the system and setup I got. Well there goes another $100-$200 spent!

If I'm up that late, I'm usually killing 12 kids on Call Of Duty 4, or any other multi-player shooter.

There used to be lots of poorly dubbed asian kung fu movies shown on TV around 2am. Wonder what happened to them.

Sorry, a little off topic.

+1 !!.... here is an eclectic sampling of my 'after hours' indulgences: The Gorgon, The Valley of Gwangi, Mystery Train, After Hours, Before Sunrise, They Call Me Trinity / Trinity is Still My Name (new 2.35 anamorphic remasters), The Cooler, Mulholland Dr., Streets of Fire, This Island Earth, Frantic, The Castle of Fu Manchu, The Masque of the Red Death, Big Trouble in Little China, Touch of Evil, Coffee and Cigarettes, In Bruges, All About My Mother (Almodavar), Woman in the Dunes....obviously, I'm a bit of a nocturnal creature

Btw, as a teenager, I remember watching some of those fabulous Hammer horror films during those all-nite 'dusk-to-dawn' marathons (usually featuring 4 to 5 'B' titles) at my local drive-in in the early seventies....

Sorry, a little off topic.
What happened was a perfect storm of the Infomercial, the VHS killing off TV movies, the corporate devouring of the mom-'n-pop UHF station, local network affiliates eliminating their original-station programming and sinking all their limited funds into their news divisions, and studios realizing they could make more money holding on to their vault movies than selling them as station filler.

But there's been a movement now to Bring the Late Show Back to Free TV--
If you're on digital channels (and we assume you are, if you've got an HDTV on which to play Blu-rays), check out whether you're in the area to pick up ThisTV on one of the splinter affiliates.

Kudos for you making that kind of effort! Unlike my disrespectful neighbors across the street, they keep a stereo in their garage and had it going until 3 a.m. during their 4th of July party. My house isn't huge (about 2800 sq. ft), but I could CLEARLY hear and feel the music from our bedroom which is located upstairs in the back of the house. The cops were called much sooner, but they must have been busy with it being the 4th and all, and fireworks are illegal where I live.

Anyway... so late night movies. Heck, I'll watch pretty much anything and just turn on DRC + subtitles, kill the sub and redirect the LFE to the mains. I do like watching sci-fi flicks the most for late night, though. That genre gets the most of my attention, so I prefer to watch late at night when there's no disturbances.

I agree; B-movies are perfect for late-night viewings. In a way, they almost seem better when you watch them late.

I stayed up late once to watch a pair of really weird Japanese sci-fi B-movies, "Pinnocchio 964" and "Rubber's Lover." They're kind of crummy, but I enjoyed them a lot, especially at night for some odd reason.

I think other good ones for late-night would be "Dead Alive," "Meatball Machine," any "Evil Dead" movie, and maybe "Zombie Strippers."
