November 1944. On the flooded isle of Walcheren, Zeeland, thousands of Allied soldiers are battling the German army. Three young lives become inextricably connected. A Dutch boy fighting for the Germans, an English glider pilot and a girl from Zeeland connected to the resistance against her will, are forced to make crucial choices that impact both their own freedom and the freedom of others.

The Forgotten Battle (2020) (Slag om de Schelde) is a Dutch movie with an international cast and for Dutch standards it got a very large budget: 14 million euros. Second most after Black Book (Zwartboek) (2006). Netflix financed a part and got the movie distribution rights as well after it's theater run.

The movie premiered last December and at the end of that day my country went into lockdown. That was such a letdown. Finally after months in June the theaters re-opened again. The theater run is almost over. And on October 15th, 2021 it is coming to Netflix. Netflix dropped the trailer today.

So a bit of a history there.
