Yup, another WTF idea by the Hollywood execs. Let's hope this never gets past development.

You've got to be kidding me, this is actually being made? Variety announces that the 1980's TV show "T.J. Hooker" that starred William Shatner as a no-nonsense patrol sergeant is headed to the big screen as a feature action comedy. I guess this is what happens in Hollywood when Fox's A-Team movie starts getting buzz. If this wasn't already bad, just wait, it gets worse. Chuck Russell, who last directed The Scorpion King as well as Eraser, The Mask, and The Blob before that, is in talks to direct a script written by Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson. It's not likely that William Shatner will return in any way, so don't get your hopes up.

The "T.J. Hooker" TV series first debuted in 1982 on ABC and ran for five seasons, the last on CBS. "The series was the poster child for cop TV shows in the 1980s with great stunts, so we think there's a fun movie to be made from it," producer Ryan Heppe said. Heppe and fellow producer David Foster are also producing the remake of Short Circuit in addition to this. Writers Maddock and Wilson were the two who wrote Wild Wild West as well as several of the Tremors movies. Apparently "great stunts" are all you need to turn an 80's TV show into a great modern day movie. I doubt this is going to turn out any good. Do you?

I have to admit, I love this show.

The movie is gonna suck ass however.

Maybe they could get the guy who played Kirk in the new Star Trek to play Hooker.

Nothing beats flying a helicopter through a test bombing run... or flying into space to freeze and evil computer virus Ok, perhaps using a cane to push a missile (the only missile to ever hit Airwolf) out of the cockpit

Yep! the show was a classic of the 80's. I am actualy surprised we haven't see a remake of this yet.

The sad thing is, I have not seen this since the 80's and I remember all of those episodes.

After so many bad films from 80's TV maybe this will be the exception, or the Baywatch one will be.

I'm pretty sure the episodes are on Youtube or Hulu.com.. Well worth watching again.
