Default Is Young Frankenstein worth upgrading?

I have read a couple of different reviews about Young Frankenstein. Some say that it is worth the upgrade and some say that it's not worth upgrading a black and white film from 1974.

To those of you who have YF is the PQ worth the upgrade of this classic movie? I can pick it up for $15.99 at my local Movie Stop.

Thanks in advance.

I upgraded from the non-anamorphic DVD to the Blu-ray Disc.

More than worth it for me.

The BD also reveals miniscule details like Fronkensteen's strands of hair after keeping grace and dignity. The closed curtains before the musical number also shimmer which I never noticed before.

You also get new interviews from 2007/2008 with a lot of the cast and crew plus fans and even Alan Spencer, creator of Sledge Hammer. Spencer frequently "visted the set" bypassing security but was given personal mentorship by Mel Brooks.

The DVD just includes extras from the 1997 special edition laserdisc.

It's worth upgrading from the non-anamorphic DVD and for the Bonus features. Also make sure that you turn the sharpness on your TV all the way down on this one. It's got really heavy grain in it, and if your TV isn't calibrated properly (if it uses any artificial sharpening) it will look like it's snowing inside your television. If your TV is calibrated correctly though, it should look great.

I was wondering this myself so I bit the bullet on it a few months ago. In my opinion, it is worth the upgrade. It is much better than the DVD I have.

I upgraded from the DVD to the blu-ray and IMO it was completely worth it.

This BD is a revelation in more ways than one--an easy upgrade recommendation!

The blu ray also has extra (HD!) deleted scenes not on any of the previous releases.
