Default Resident Evil 6 - A reboot?

IGN has a small interview with famed producer Jun Takeuchi here.

Is it possible that part six will wipe away all the previous mythos and character history of part 0-5 and CV?

What is your point of view on this?

Any RE game is good. Cannot go much further with current series so a reboot, taking it back to it's roots will be good. Might even have an impact on the new film to.

I'd personally like to see a cross between the 1st and 4th Resident Evil here...

that would be the best way to go...

go back to the horror angle with action/adventure elements of gameplay...

Could be very interesting but I do not want Jun Takeuchi in this game

I enjoyed Resi 4 & 5, but have to confess that I prefered the fixed camera and puzzle solving of the originals. They seemed to be more atmospheric and adventursome than 4 & 5. It'd be nice if they could work out some kind of hybrid gameplay between the two styles.

A reboot? I don't know. I kinda think that RE6 should've been a bit more RE4, to get that survival-horror feel again.

I completely agree with the camera and puzzles but they should also bring back the Zombies.

They could keep most of the same characters and just take a new direction. I would love a dead space type of control in RE1/2/3 type of game.

How about aiming whilst walking?

they should just copy Uncharted 2 controls and add the horror that RE is well known for...

being able to aim/shoot while walking...or running...or climb over things and a good cover system as well...

Uncharted controls are too fast and "jumpy"... I really prefer a control like dead space, slow walk, aim and walk and add a cover system. I can't see the climbing working much with horror.

if done well, it is possible....I actually really like the fact that the 1st one took place in a mansion....imagine being able to climb on anything in a smaller area in the game.....

you can do horror and still be able to run....just impair the situations...

Id love a reboot because honestly RE4 and RE5 are fun games but have taken the series in a totally crappy direction. RE5 was not scary AT ALL. They really need to bring the atmosphere back and make this survival horror again rather than action/adventure.

They better keep the online co-op mode. I can't count how many hours my buddy and I have have put into this game.

We are both determined to get our platinum trophy in this game. We are so close. I just need to get an "S" rating on 6-3, buy the last figurine and I'm done. I think he has about 6-7 more levels to do.

We both think we got our moneys worth and more!

After we get our platinums, we are switching roles and starting from the beginning with no inf. ammo.

I remember beating CV back on the Dreamcast and getting ready to take down Umbrella "once and for all"...and then RE4 came out, and Umb goes down in the opening cutscene and now Leon has Matrix powers and I'm saving the President's daughter....ehhhhhh...And RE5, Wesker is collecting various virus samples throughout the series...for what?

But at the end of the day, aside from Sherry Birkin, I feel the current RE story is complete. RE6 can be a total gameplay overhaul, but I would like a whole new story to go with it.

Yeah, it is quite annoying how many times I've taken out this or that only for them to try to come up with some new storyline which is in fact exactly the same.

Well, I love online co-op for ALL games in general.

S Rating is super easy once you get unlim ammo rocket launcher and magnum
