Default THIEL SCS4 Bookshelves.

Any thoughts on the SCS4 monitor or THIEL in general. They have a nice lineup & seem to be very well reviewed. Just curious. I"ve never heard any of their models as of yet.

The SCS4's are wonderful speakers, Thiel speakers are very revealing, they perform beautifully with tube amps, as well as solid state. I would recommend finding a dealer in your area, and give them an audition. I am sure you will find them to be very accurate, and smooth.

Amen Rich and Db01! Thiel is one of only a handful of U.S. speaker manufacturers that KNOW HOW TO MAKE GREAT SOUNDING SPEAKERS.

I've been looking for a pair of 3.6's but found a nice pair of Amberwood 1.5's on Audiogon.... I've always been a big fan of theirs..... I'm looking for 2-channel use only though....... either way, they're great speakers.

Those were the ones I was looking at...... If you haven't had the opportunity to hear them, the have an amazing low end for stereo music, while not sounding "boomy" at all

That's a great deal, the only thing with Thiels, is don't overdrive them, because you will blow tweeters. That is with excessive volume though, they can take alot.
