Exclamation Comic Con 09' Who's Going????

OK, i've asked people in the DC universe thread about any people that live in this area but feel i need to expand the areas i display my notice as some of you may not follow that thread

Basically i am asking anybody that anybody that lives in the area that attends the San Diego Comic-Con if they can do some first hand journalism for us for DC universe online as well as Ratchet & Clank which is supposed to be making an appearance there as well

Now the more people i can find that are going the more the tasks could be divided between you as i am sure that most if you are going as fans but if you did go specifically for this request you would be my Hero or Heroine

As I told you in PMs, Comic-Con is COMPLETELY sold out. So, even if San Diegans wanted to go, they would have had to buy tickets long ago. You might get a better response if your thread was titled "Who's going to Comic-Con?" There are people that live very far from SD that make the trip just for Comic-Con. I'm sure a couple of those people post here.

they have an official website where you buy tickets and register. you should probably do so at least 6 months in advance. also, once you register, tickets are non-transferable. I don't remember the exact website, but you can Google it.

San Diego has the biggest Comic-Con, but I've heard rumblings of a New York Comic-Con as well. I don't know who theirs is run by though, it may be completely different for all I know.

I'd like to go to San Diego Comic-con but I'll have to settle for Wizard World Chicago.

We usually get the same guests: Lou Ferrigno, lame Virgil from WCW/WWE, other retired wrestlers,(Al Snow was cool though), unknown Star Wars actors from the prequels and Kevin Smith. I've never actually seen him there...

One year we did get Anthony Daniels, (C3PO), Kenny Baker, (R2D2), George Takei and the guy(John something?) who played Q on Star Trek TNG. The band Static-X was there once too. I usually see Charlie Benante from Anthrax just walking around. He lives in Chicago.

I will try going to comicon one of these days, for now all I can go too is Fan Expo in Toronto at the end of August, biggest convention in Canada for scifi/comics/anime and Bruce Campbell is there this year, I hope I can get my picture taken with him

My dad goes EVERY year (we're from MI). My Uncle works for Darkhorse so he gets VIP EVERYTHING (including free hotel room right across the street from the convention center). Kinda sucks that he gets to go, because it means i'll never get to go, because one of us HAVE to be here in the office to run the buisness (god forbid we ever let my mom or brother do that).

My dad does bring me back a whole bunch of cool things though. I got a Mike Nelson (mystery science theater/rifftrax) bobble head doll and a poster with all the guys from mst3k signatures last year. I wish I could go there sooooo bad... as soon as i'm done with school.... I wont be working here, and i'll be able to go FINALLY!

And if you wont to go, you literally have to get tickets the day they come out. Which was a few months ago.

Reckon your dad would be willing to do some journalism for us while he's there?

i'm still wanting to know if anybody who's going could do what i was asking in post #1 but somebody said why bother when major media people will cover but i believe we could get people from the forum to get a Q&A together & pick our most burning questions specific to us on the forum in regards to both DC universe online & Ratchet & Clank

Why not just watch Attack of the Show? They do a pretty good job covering the comic con and i'm pretty sure they'll cover the games being showed there.
