Default How can i get full potential.

Hello, Everyone

I wanted to know how i could get the full potential of my surround sound. I currently have polk audio rm705 and my receiver is an onkyo-605.

my speaker configurations right now are.

Front: 80hz
center: 80hz
surround: 80hz
lpf of lfe: 120hz

if a lower my front, center, and surround to 60hz will i lose or gain more power?? On my sub what phase should i have it on. For my low pass where should i have it also.

are you currently having issue with you sound quality or you just having fun playing with the settings? i have my surrounds set to 80, my sub set to 120, and my monitors set to fullband. this is what my audyssey mic calibrated it to and everything purrs.

I'd start with an SPL meter, and tweak to your liking from there.

Those tiny speakers shouldn't even be set as low as 80hz, never mind 60hz.

I have a very similar set-up (Onkyo 606 & Polk RM85). The center channel you can set as low as 100 Hz, but I'd recommend 120 Hz and all the other speakers can really only handle 120 Hz. I set my low pass as high as possible, which on my 606 is 120 Hz. These are small satellite speakers not meant to handle frequencies as low as 80 Hz or lower.

+1, protect your 605. I personally would not have them any lower than 100Hz.

EDIT: I forgot your first post, as you have the 606. Are you using HDMI cables? What type of Blu-ray player do you have? I am trying to figure out if you have to bitstream or not....

Acording to Polk Audio's Website, the frequency response of those satellite speakers is 95Hz-22kHz with a lower limit frequency response of 130Hz at -3dB.

You should not lower your crossover frequency to 60Hz. In fact you should raise them to 120Hz or more.
