Now That You've Gone Blu, What Kinds of DVDs Will You Still Buy?
In our case the only DVDs we might want to buy are kid's movies, exercise (e.g. Yoga) videos, or the occasional documentary. Few and far between really. |

Owned a player since about August 2007. The only DVD I have bought was Disney's "The Black Hole" because there was no telling how long I would have to wait for that on blu-ray. Perhaps never. As for anything else... <folds arms> I waited 14 months for Transformers I can wait for anything.

I dont buy regular DVD's anymore at all. I just kept the ones I really liked that weren't on Blu yet. Team America, Borat, Juice, Pulp Fiction (not in USA yet), Idiocracy, Star Wars....so on. But you had best believe as soon as those same titles become available in hi-def, they're as good as traded in.

I still buy movies on DVD if they are rare, because I think it'll be a long, long time before they come to Blu-ray. I don't think films like Detour or Let's Scare Jessica to Death are going to go Blu soon, if ever.
I also buy animated cartoons, like Looney Tunes, Popeye, and Tom & Jerry, on DVD. Warners took their sweet time getting those on DVD. I'm willing to bet they'll take their time bringing them to Blu-ray, too. |

A DVD for the kids is the only type of DVD I'll buy nowadays; I will not buy any adult movie in DVD. I did buy Beavis & Butthead Do America a few months ago on DVD, though. I was able to get it for about $10 shipped (new in package) off eBay, and I didn't foresee that one coming to Blu so I just bought it.
