PS3 Controller Not Registering - Blu-ray Forum

My Dualshock 3 will not turn on the PS3. It also doesn't register with the PS3 wirelessly, but will only work when it's connected with a USB cable. It also doesn't charge. When I hold the PS button to check the battery's charge... it just shows a line that looks like - instead of the battery. What is going on?

This happened to me once...I am not a 100% sure this is what I did, but I think I shut the master power switch on the back of the PS3 off, then turned it back on. I think this enabled me to use the controller again. Hopefully that was it, because it drove me crazy too when it happened.

Ya, it happened to me before too, but mine somehow magically decided to work again eventually.

you could try using the reset button on the back
