It's been a while since I've seen it, but didn't they flip a boat upside-down and walk into the water with it? They basically created an air pocket in the upside-down boat so they can breathe from what I remember.

Yea, its a air pocket. You've never done that before? Just make sure no water comes in and you can breath for a while. Its not a mistake

Ok, try pushing a bucket under water that has air in it, you can barely push it down. Now take a full size boat filled with air and see if 10 men can hold it completely under water. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie and don't care about the impossibility of the scene, just adding to the thread.

Well, if your going to debate the science behind it, then I guess it is a mistake but its a movie. Roll with it

there is also no way cursed gold could turn men into the undead, but a great stunt for sure!

some things in film just need to be enjoyed and not over analyzed.

The air pocket's not a mistake. Next time you wash dishes, take some tupperware, turn it upside-down and put it in the water. You'll see the air pocket. Or you can stick your hand in there if you don't have clear tupperware.

/sigh...

When will people stop citing MythBusters as the Alpha & Omega of scientific reality? MB is NOT science. It is entertainment.

Now, I'm not necessarily debating this particular stunt as being debunked, but we've crossed a line into the Land of Media Absurd when we get our "scientific facts" from a show starring two Hollywood special effects guys (there's your first clue) who perform "experiments" in a warehouse.

I enjoy Adam and Jamie, too. But I know that taking my science and physics cues from them is like getting surgical advice from a pharmacist--they might have a lot of knowledge and experience in their field, but they aren't qualified for everything.
