Gary Oldman: Next Batman to Start Filming Next Year - Blu-ray Forum

Gary Oldman just announced at the Warner Bros. Book of Eli panel that a third Batman film will go into production next year.

"I think the next Batman is next year," he told a fan who asked about when the long-awaited "Dark Knight" follow-up would hit, "We start shooting next year. You didn't hear that from me."

He did say "I think" it doesn't mean he annouced it, but it would be stupid that they wouldn't have got it started by the end of next year.

I wouldn't be shocked if they did. After making over a billion on a 185 million dollar budget, they'd be crazy not to pump those out every 2-3 years.

Gary Oldman is god and what he says is infallable.
Maybe that's a bit extreme.
He is awesome though and I sure hope he is basing his claim on something Nolan said to him.

Side note: I'm glad to see him playing what appears to be a bad guy in Book of Eli; he does that so well.

Who says? I'm up for another Joel Schumacher go-around. I'm positive he's willing to redeem himself from his past crimes. He's learned his lessons. No more Bat-Nipples or Bat-Mastercards. How about a Bat-Bat? Or a Bat-Lowrider? Or Bat-Jockstrap? Who's with me?

I'd say there's a very good chance we're going to get Cat Woman, there have already been numerous casting rumors for that particular role. Could mean we get that Panther woman as the main villain though.

I just don't see this happening so soon. I hope it does but like everyone else here until I see a release by Nolan or WB I'll take this as pure speculation.

I hope this is true but will wait for an official announcement. If this were true, I would like to see the detective side of Batman being shown.

Hopefully, Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox) will be back as well. Just like Gary Oldman with Commission Gordon, Morgan Freeman is perfect as Lucius Fox.

It would be nice to see two villains challenging Batman. One on the physical level and the other on the mental level. They could be working together on a single plot against Gotham City.

Actually if you remember Dark Knight, they pretty much shut the door on Lucius Fox being back for the 3rd movie when Wayne activated that cell phone hacking machine.
