Exclamation 1080p question

Hi, i recently bought a asus wv246h hdmi monitor which supports 1080p. When i launch the XMB everything runs perfect in full hd, but when i insert a game like bioshock (On back of box says 720p, 1080i, 1080p) or motorstorm the game forces it in 720p. The only games which play in 1080p on my monitor are ridge racer 7 and gran turismo 5 prologue. I'm confused because when i see at playstation 3 booths in stores, which have the motorstorm demo on a sony bravia tv it runs in 1080p and even says it on the text in the top left corner. Does it have something to do with the internal scaler on the monitor or can only the big samsung, sony tvs force all games into 1080p?

You have to change the settings for your PS3 to output only 1080P. It's a pain though, because you will have to keep switching back and forth for games that do not support 1080P. Hope that helps.

When i try that it forces all games to run in 576p ending up with even worse picture quality.

No, let the PS3 choose it's own resolution. The TV/Monitor should do the last step in the scaling.

All 1080p HDTVs should scale any image that's not 1080p to 1080p. Also, 1080p support listed on game boxes does not mean it's NATIVE 1080p.

Native resolution games list (starts about half-way down)
