Default The Choice of the Decade: What should get a sequel, The Other Guys or Step Brothers?

Source: WorstPreview

Quote:
"The Other Guys" is the fourth collaboration for Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay, but the duo has yet to deliver a sequel. Now, McKay tells MTV News that something is already being planned.

"'Anchorman 2' didn't quite work out, so the two we were talking about were 'Step Brothers' and 'Other Guys'," he said, adding that the new installment will come after he directs "The Boys" and the Lee Atwater biopic.

"Those are the next two. But Will and I are talking about the sequel idea," McKay explained. "And then we have another idea that we like too. It's an original idea. The one thing I'm pushing for is Will to go back and work with John C. Reilly again, even if it's not me directing."
I'd rather see a sequel to Anchorman than these two, though I'm yet to see The Other Guys, I'm backing Step Brothers, only because it has Boats N' Hoes

The only acceptable choice would be if Steve Carrell starred in the Anchorman sequel, focusing on Brick!

They had all the cast back and everything for the sequel, Paramount just wouldn't go with it either because A) It would cost too much to produce or B) wasn't bankable enough

I haven't seen The Other Guys yet but I loved Step Brothers, yet I don't have any desire for a sequel. I'd much rather see Anchorman 2 or Old School 2, or even a spin-off of Wedding Crashers focusing on Ferrell's Chazz Reinhold.

Will Ferrell... Easily on my top 3 AVOID AT ALL COSTS list. This guy's humor is so adloescent, it's (insert your own pathetic synonym).

I totally disagree with you. Will Ferrell's humor is genuine, fantastic, awesome and fun. Even when he is not talking, he makes me laugh. He's easily on my top 3 of best comedian. I just seen The Other Guys yesterday and it was freaking hilarious. I have never laughed this hard in the movie theater. The audience was laughing every time and hard. To each is own though. I have to admit I feel sorry for all the Ferrell's haters.

I love Ferrell as well. Top 5 out there for me. I've enjoyed everything he's done so far. Well maybe except Land of the Lost but even that was quite bad-ass/

I would go with The Other Guys sequel over Step Brothers. SB went about as far as it could with its material and them going back to acting like juvenile delinquents after they grew out of it at the end of the movie would kind of undo the point of the first movie.

They didn't grow out of it at the end, they have the whole speech by Richard Jenkins being a dinosaur, and they start up there karaoke company and be rude and have the boat int the tree with porn and Wookie masks.
