Default Harry Potter Blu-ray Omissions

I just did a Harry Potter marathon (I have the years 1-5 set on blu) and I realize some of the movies are missing scenes that were in the theatrical cuts of the films (I’m not talking about the extended cuts). Like where is the scene with Cho and Harry getting tea where they discuss Cedric? This was in the theatrical version. Any one notice this? I’ve actually found about 3 omissions from the five films that were at once present in the theatre
Not sure if these scenes are on the DVDs.

We'd have heard about deleted scenes long before now. Better do an AB comparison, then come back and post.

I don't recall the tea scene being in the 5th movie. I think they cut it from the theatrical all together. I could be wrong, but I saw the 5th one recently on SD and there was no tea scene

Correct, that was never in the movie.

The Blus are identical to the theatrical versions.

Cool Definitely Missing!

I might think I was just imagining these omissions, except my wife has not read the books at all and she pointed out the missing scenes to me initially. She had only seen the film in the theater, then we just watched it tonight. There was a scene where Hermione was afraid to ride on the Thestrals (not on the Blu-Ray) to London. The disc just cuts right to them flying.

Did you see the fifth film in imax, if so, maybe it was slightly extended like the Transformers films have been in imax.

I remember that scene - although, I didn't notice if it was in the Blu-ray or not.

You remember it from the book -- it isn't (and wasn't) in the movie.

correct, it was not in the movie.....

they would not take out a scene from theatrical version when releasing for the home audience.....anyways, if the scene did exist, it would then in turn exist in the deleted scense which it does not......you confusing it with the book or from one of the many other scenes in the other movies....there has been a few tea scenes....

Cho and Harry never discuss Cedric in the movies....Ive seen it in the theaters twice and the scene was never there.....

and on top of that, theres not one word of this or anything over at the top harry potter fan site: www.the-leaky-cauldron.org

if anyone would know, trust me, it would be them

Actually they may be right. I remeber when "Final Destination" came out on DVD years ago, the one deleted scene on the disc was actually part of the theatrical cut. Trust me, I had to sit through it like 3 times at the theatre. So, while I do not remeber those scenes in the Potter films, they may have been in there.
Oh, and the scene with Harry and Cho, is on the deleted scenes reel, I believe. I watched those right after the movie, and I had convinced myself that it was in the actual film too.
Plus those extended editions that ABC Family show just about every weekend don't help matters...
