Yay or Nay: Progress bar automatically pops up when rewinding or fast-forwarding?

On some discs, when you hit the rewind or fast-forward button on your remote, a custom progress bar automatically appears to show you where you are in the movie.

Do you like when discs do this? Or do you prefer scanning movies with a clear display, and keeping the progress bar locked to a button on the remote?
